Is there any play in chess what would be called "perfect" ?
Botvinnik and his colleague have searched for "truth of chess" but they did not find it.
Naturally I talk about playing chess from starting position.

I think that the high draw rate arises from the fact that engines chose not the BEST move to continue the game but ONE of the good moves. If you enhance the playing time significantly the engines find more moves to be good so longer time enhances the probability to find no the really best move. In G...

Draw is essence of chess, I think. But a draw gotten in battle is valuable only. So in material equilibrium a symmetrical pawn structure with tempo advantage or an asymmetrical pawn standing without blocked centre is a good choice for testing positional knowledge. Starting from the same opening position the chances are different for a mainly tactical monster like Stockfish and for a mainly positional monster like Komodo. A tactical engine finds a good continuation easier in an unbalanced position than in a balanced position and vice verse a positional engine ...

I think that: 1, If you enhance the effectiveness of your chess program against weaker enemy (for commercial purpose) it would be weaker against stronger opponents, like Stockfish or newer Houdini. 2, Openings in TCEC 8 Final was advantageous for Komodo, but openings in TCEC 9 Stage 3 is advantageou...

After the method supposed by you your program not stopped, BUT a lot of game disappeared from the Output.pgn.
I think you out to copy the header of input.pgn to the output.pgn "in raw",
without any code checking.

If you can compile the program source with these modifications to a windows binary, please make it. I think it may be a help for others, too.
But I think a modification to handling unicodes (for the name of players) would be more better.

If you get the pgn files from a CBH - PGN (for e.g. CB) converter the pgn files may contains other characters too.
I ask for help and not a common info.

An issue about the programs: They work on .PGN file which it contains English characters only.
