Re: LCZero update

Its logical to try LCZero to see if it works. I am skeptical but not a pessimist. I look at the games and I see a lot of stupid one ply blunder that lose material. I do not know what they do but if after many thousands of games it plays like that then I do not believe in it. One thing to remember -...

Re: Someone want's to kill AMD

https://github.com/official-stockfish/Stockfish/issues/1433 Well, they produce products with critical bugs, so... :? Yeah, we should kill AMD because a chess engine is not working properly.... On a serious note, the "killing amd "-thing is about security issues and that's not stockfish's prob...

Re: LCZero update

Why wouldn't random play be 5000 Elo weaker than SF? If we assume random play at -1500 Elo and SF at 3500 Elo (both seem reasonable) we get to a difference of 5000. Seems logical to me. Then why would it be 5000 and not 6000 ? Assumptions dont actually help there. By running tests we could adjust t...

Re: LCZero update

Hi. I explored some games on the given link http://162.217.248.187/user/GaryS But the blunderfeasted games are nowhere near 2000 elo IMO. Am I missing something? He's not saying that they're at a 2,000 Elo level, they're 2,000 Elo points ahead of random play. Now the question would be, what's the E...

Re: YLCET - What's the next tournament?

I don't really like chess 960... For a reason - no engine is really well runed to play chess 960 (well, apart from senpai). What I mean - SF has rough penalty (50,50) for bishop blocked by it own pawn squares of the board - pure 960 thing that can't happen in real chess, and this (50,50) value is b...

Re: World Computer Chess Championship

This is a golden opportunity for Alpha Zero. Google better than that. Yeah, note that when they wanted to play against the strongest chess engine available, they didn't look at the WCCC, but they chose TCEC's winner. So at this point, Alpha Zero has a higher chance to appear in TCEC than in the WCC...
