Re: SPCC: Testrun of BrainFish 180227 finished

Nice, indeed ! There are some good patches in test for the regular Stockfish. They will be probably released in a couple of days ! But the latest Stockfish, I tested, is nearly one month old and there were a lot of patches released in the meantime, so it is time to do a testrun of Stockfish, now. T...

Re: Chess reinforcement learning by AlphaGo Zero methods

This github repo was already posted ( if not in multiple times). Still, I would really like chess-alpha-zero to be as popular as the go variant (LeelaZero)

Re: Benchmarking Google's TPUv2

I hope that the prices of the tpu will still drop. I suppose the there arent many of those fancy tpu's chip yet and therefore the price is where it is right now. The price should drop once google manufactures more of those chips, not for their own datacenters, but for google cloud

Re: Connect 4 AlphaZero implemented using Python...

Well, to be fair, that was some...let's say, "artful" quoting, inserting a period where there was none. Robin only claimed that checkers is much simpler than chess, not that it was simple, period. That's a pretty big difference :) Right. For reference, Marion Tinsley won every single tournament he ...

Re: Connect 4 AlphaZero implemented using Python...

They could have choosen checkers which is still much simpler. If checkers is so simple, what is the best move for red here? https://i.imgur.com/PHnaqPy.jpg The red checker must travel all the way "up" the board to become a king. Too lazy to think on my own and too lazy to put this into my engine :P...

Re: World Computer Chess Championships 2018

Here's a funny question will AlphaZero be able to compete let's talk to the Google guys but the price is they will have to release the code. LOL FWCC TAL WAS CORRECT I am actually not that much intrested in the code. They should give us free acess to at least 5000 tpu's and I just built my own alph...

Re: Stockfish 9 - FGRL 60 + 0.6 sec.

I remember when everyone was complaining ( ok, at least some ppl were) that the dev version was only marginally stronger than SF8 and there seemed to be some regression with some of the patches back then. Happy to see that everything worked out and we had a couple of really good patches now. Hope to...

Re: Stockfish 9

Hi Evert, I tried to add elo++ in my own code, but sadly it didn't help. Clearly elo++ is only going to increment by 1. You need to add a for loop e.g. for(i = 0; i < desired_improvement; i++) elo++; That should do the trick  Steve I thought elo++ was a programming language  elo++ is ...
