Re: LCZero update

His problem with AlphaZero is that it dares to suggest that the current paradigm of chess engineering might not be the global optimum, which is an unforgivable affront to... something.

Re: LCZero update

From my perspective, it's people like you who are trapped in the old paradigm and refuse to update your views until the evidence literally forces you to do so. For those of us who like to come to correct conclusions before said conclusions are staring us in the face, your way of thinking is less use...

Re: YLCET Super X3 (Yorkman's Live Chess Engine Tournament)

Has Komodo 2023.00 played any games in the tournament yet, or have all the games so far been played by version 2016.00?

Re: Some handicap results and conclusions.

[d]r1bqkb1r/pp1p1ppp/2n2n2/4p3/8/8/PPPPPPPP/RNBQKBNR w KQkq - 0 1 another one SF says initially 20-30cps black edge. actually, white has substantial advantage and might be even winning that. I don't know what Komodo say on this, but white is much better. What is your basis for saying that White is ...

Re: 15,0000 game Komodo 11.01 test results

the +10elo over K10.4 seems applicable based on IPON & larry/mark's estimates, the rest...not so much. not sure why that is though, any ideas? We quote results for times like 2 mins + 1 sec, now 20 seconds. The super fast time control is know to hurt Komodo more, but this does seem very strange. Pe...

Re: World #1 Go Player Ke Jie accepts Google Alpha Go Match.

This thing which destroyed Ke Jie runs on a machine 10 times smaller than that against Lee Sedol, a large single machine with like 4 GPU. I would dare to say that AlphaGo on home PC is stronger than top Go pros. A remarkable achievement. They also have new approaches built in, ready to be published...

Re: FGRL 60 min + 15 sec Rating list - Komodo 10.4

Looking at some of Stanisavljevic's other posts on Komodo threads makes it clear that he has an agenda to advance. He has presented very few facts or citations of his own, resorting instead to definitional nitpicking (LOS vs. CFS) which distracts from the real point. What little information he has p...

Re: Komodo 10.4 vs Houdini 5

Come on Bram, when both engines are this close, you can't conclude anything based on 100 game. Still the game are nice to watch. If you put the data through Ordo you'd get famous CFS of 80%, as Mark like to point out chance that H5 is a stronger engine than K10.4 is 80% which is a a much higher ind...

Re: Komodo 10.4 vs Houdini 5

In my experience, the best thing to do when faced with baseless accusations is to wait for the truth to come out. There's no need to validate the claims of random attention-seekers by engaging with them. Some words to live by: “Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level ...

Re: Komodo seems the best in closed positions

SF has made virtually no progress rating-wise since the release of SF 8. What have been making progress are various derivatives of SF such as Brainfish.
