Re: free Aquarium

No, asmFish is definitely not by Mike Byrne. Why do you think otherwise? Ronald, you forget a "W". It's AsmFish W by Mohammed Li (and of course it's an assembly version of SF by Tord Romstad, Marco.......). Asmfish (without the "W") is an asmFishW update by Mike Byrne. OK, so you really have no ide...

Re: free Aquarium

I didn't try to connect any engine, yet. You can make an account, so I'll paste analyses of completed games. I used both Arena and a very old demo of Aquarium (more than 10 years ago). This demo has some limitations (no IDeA, and engines can think max 5 secs in tournament), but it's much more comfor...

Re: free Aquarium

My favorites engines: Stockfish_savehash version by Daniel Jose, Sugar by Marco Zerebinati, Asmfish by Mike Byrne, McBrain by Mike Byrne. I spotted a typo there that needs correction. asmFish is not by Mike Byrne. (He has never claimed to be the author, but unfortunately some people did pick up tha...

Re: free Aquarium

Interesting. It looks a great work, but still with some limitations. Example, if one uses a different engine it's not supported. Or, if one has to copy/paste his own previous homemade analyses he can't. Those could be hints for an upgrade. Congrats for your work so far! :D Thank you for the feedbac...

Re: Scorpio 2.8

Hi all, I have released new version of Scorpio 2.8 . The major change is that ScorpioMCTS is now greatly improved thanks to alpha-beta rollouts. From the readme: MCTS The montecarlo tree search engine uses alpha-beta rollouts according to Huang paper. This is much stronger than standard MCTS in gam...

Re: free Aquarium

I would like to announce the public beta of freeAquarium what you can do with freeAquarium: * analyze positions with different engines and save the results. These engines can run anywhere, several at once, from and to different users. * generate a tree for every engine out of these results and mini...

Re: First Review

You can also give presentations about your book on chess clubs or tournaments. First start with small audiences. Then maybe you will become a chess teacher. Nimzowich gave lectures too. There would also be another idea: giving skype lessons to individuals or small groups. Basic, intermediate and ad...

Re: Slipper: no progress

Slipper AKA Skipper -- Putting the "I have no idea what I'm doing" concept on a Solid Scientific Basis. Don't be too harsh. Whatever it is, it seems to play legal moves. At least for now, until he tries to implement some new feature. If it learns that a checkmate is painful it's a huge progr...
