Minic is going for f5 also but it takes depth 27 and 30sec ... stable after that, with score around 100cp

Re: FCP Tourney-2020: 41.000 games 20+5 to play on Intel i9-10900k

Hi Frank,

thanks a lot for this interesting tourney.
I see Minic has already 4 crashes, this is a lot.
I am very interesting in all the available pgn, logs, ... you have about those games.

Code: Select all

resign, ponder, learning = off
Does this states that ponder is off ? or only learning here ?

Best regards

Re: Counting nodes correctly

At top of your recursive Pvs or alphabeta routine you probably have If depth <=0 then qsearch() You can count nodes++ just after this. In qsearch, you can do it at top of routine. This way, you are counting all visited nodes. Of course you can also count, legal move make, or anything else but what I...

Re: CEGT - rating lists July 05th 2020

Thanks for testing. Minic 2.37 x64 1CPU: 2913 - 810 games (+8 to v. 2.07) This is a strange result, I'll have to investigate that. CCRL 40/2 has +60 between 2.07 and 2.33. Maybe 2.07 over performed a little @CEGT with the large amount of opponent (http://www.cegt.net/40_4_Ratinglist/40_4_AllVersion/...

Re: search explosion

Mmmm just found this in SF case QCAPTURE: if (select<Best>([&](){ return depth > DEPTH_QS_RECAPTURES || to_sq(*cur) == recaptureSquare; })) return *(cur - 1); with DEPTH_QS_RECAPTURES = -5 This may very well be the trick for this kind of position !
