Re: Syzygy implementations of top engines

SF is known to uselessly shuffle in TB positions till it sees the only winning moves which it makes instantly then.
But since it doesn't lose elo it devs don't really care about it that much.

Re: YLCET - What's the next tournament?

I don't really like chess 960... For a reason - no engine is really well runed to play chess 960 (well, apart from senpai). What I mean - SF has rough penalty (50,50) for bishop blocked by it own pawn squares of the board - pure 960 thing that can't happen in real chess, and this (50,50) value is ba...

Re: YLCET - What's the next tournament?

It's not like there are a lot of engine devs that are willing to rapidly update in-between... SF team doesn't care really in terms of in-between updates (it's anyway winning everything), Houdini developer doesn't like to provide a lot of updates and it only matters for Komodo devs and I think it's n...

Re: YLCET - What's the next tournament?

Top-5 engines is kinda boring in a meaning that 4th and 5th play only to not lose vs any of top 3, w/o any signifficant chances to win a single game...

Actually since YLCET features SALC there are a lot of games that are decided in some unorthod...

Re: Komodo 11.3 released

I don't think that SF contempt 20 is the same as komodo 20, also the latest dev version of sf uses 12+logarythmic dynamic contempt :) Regarding SF "dynamic contempt", am I misunderstanding something? It seems to be saying that if you are winning, don't trade pieces, which is of course ridiculous. A...
