Re: Komodo 11.3 released

I don't think that SF contempt 20 is the same as komodo 20, also the latest dev version of sf uses 12+logarythmic dynamic contempt :) Regarding SF "dynamic contempt", am I misunderstanding something? It seems to be saying that if you are winning, don't trade pieces, which is of course ridiculous. A...

Re: YLCET Super X3 (Yorkman's Live Chess Engine Tournament)

from observing I can say that at least komodo now tries to use it time before it starts to losing. Before this version it often had deadly lost position and a lot of time on the clock in it...

Re: YLCET Super X3 (Yorkman's Live Chess Engine Tournament)

I think that it's the only tournament that features komodo 2023 :)

Re: YLCET Super X3 (Yorkman's Live Chess Engine Tournament)

Double kills in reversed opening are pretty rare for engines of this caliber, houdini missplayed both times pretty badly.

Re: World Computer Chess Championship

For me as a pretty recent viewer of computer chess tournaments some things look really strange in ICGA - their contribution that I see is simply prohibiting some engines from participating for kinda strange reasons and them just abusing title "world" championship w/o providing any decent competition...

Re: YLCET Super X3 (Yorkman's Live Chess Engine Tournament)

So basically now it's surely a strongest tournament in the world (since K 2023 isn't playing in any other). 8-)

Re: World Computer Chess Championship

Idk but for me moving chess pieces on your own while you recreate move of a 3400 elo engine (or even 3000, doesn't matter) is somewhat similar as if you build supercar to have competition with other supercar but then you push it in it back as well as your opponent... Chess engines and their developm...

Re: SF 9 has big problems with old position

Is there a problem if a5 also wins?
Sf is no matefinder but an engine to play the strongest chess.
Probably at some point it will find that Qf1 is mate in 24 moves and wins faster, but it doesn't give elo.

Re: YLCET Super X3 (Yorkman's Live Chess Engine Tournament)

top-3 engines battling on such a strong hardware and with only 60% or so drawrate is really a joy to watch.
