Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

If you are really interested in the project, and how it worked, you should not 'guess' what Google did, or 'stumble' on the graph they published and just read their paper and the countless articles on it. He would also know that particular Figure 2 is totally bogus at least concerning SF's performa...

Re: Lczero stalled in progress?

Because infinite growth is infeasible and saturation always happens sooner or later. ;) What you are actually asking is why progress is really not in line with expectations of so many ppl, but that is kind of question for psychologist so you kind of posed it in a wrong forum ;). Seems you quite oft...

Re: Lczero stalled in progress?

What is wrong is quite interesting. More importantly, does anyone know why? Because infinite growth is infeasible and saturation always happens sooner or later. ;) What you are actually asking is why progress is really not in line with expectations of so many ppl, but that is kind of question for p...

Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

I played a quick match v0.8 (without TBs) vs v0.7 and they came pretty close, so I don't think there is some bug introduces. Puct was changed from 0.6 to 0.75 but that makes no much difference. Btw. I also played a match of cuDNN Win version 050518 with batch size 256 on my old GTX 770 vs v0.7, TC=...

Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

I wonder if it's just an accident that the regression started around the time v8 was released?

Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

So for example: "LC0 at 40 moves per 2 minutes on GTX 1060 has estimated CCRL 40/4 elo = 2900." Forgot to mention that if you would consider GTX 1060 gives e.g. 1 000 nps and average thinking time at that time control = 3s / move you have 3 000 nodes searched per move on average. So instead of time...

Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

I think 2950 CCRL elo is a way to high. I tested Leela id 234 versus Naum 4.6, Deep Shredder 11 and ProDeo. After my results 10+10/game, she has a rating of around 2850 CCRL elo. Regards Daniel Depends on your graphics card While he mentions timecontrol (which is necessary), the result also depends...

Re: how good is a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB for Leela ?

Gian-Carlo's hand-written OpenCL implementation is really not a match for NVIDIA specialized libraries I guess the OpenCL version also works with AMD GPUs while CUDA does not. Since the project depends on voluntary contribution, it may make sense not to shut out a considerable number of potential v...

Re: LCZero Accomplishments and Goals Thus Far

Sigh..wake me up when it is 2800 elo running on singe CPU core, which is what every other engine uses in rating lists. As far as I am concerned, it is still a 2100 elo engine there. And on and on as a broken record, full thread of your nonsensical "impressions" that you have been repeatedly bringin...

Re: LC0 on the WAC test suite, bad results

The question is how you define tactics and how do you measure tactical strength. Without answering this question a discussion about the question if LCzero is weaker or stronger than humans in tactics is meaningless. As well as the discussion about it being weaker or stronger tactically than other e...
