Re: Any news on Spike?

The Spike website is http://spike.lazypics.de/index_en.html but apparently it hasn't been updated since 11.03.2007.

Move mod/admin topics to Forum Help and Suggestions

I suggest that henceforth all moderation/administration topics should be moved to, or started in, the Forum Help and Suggestions subforum. That is the best place for them, and it is what, going by the description, that subforum was designed for - Post questions, complaints, suggestions, and tests he...

Re: Shredder 11

Hiarcs 11.2 released

http://www.hiarcs.com/pcuci_faq.htm#11.2

Is there a new version (maybe MP?) coming up? When I questioned Joachim Rang (Fruit's main tester and tuner) about this, he emailed to say, "There is steady progress even without Fabien [Letouzey]. As far as I now [sic] Fabien is only busy for the moment and will rejoin in improving Fruit later. He...

Re: Does Glaurung 1.2.1 work for chessbase interface ?

Glaurung Lodz 2007 analyses fine in ChessBase. But to repeat something I've said in another thread... I'd like to appeal to all UCI authors to implement "Next Best" and "Analyze Threat," which I believe are part of the UCI protocol. In ChessBase during infinite analysis, pressing the y-key should ca...

Re: Analysing with computer

While we're talking about analysing with a computer, I'd like to appeal to all UCI authors to implement "Next Best" and "Analyze Threat," which I believe are part of the UCI protocol. In ChessBase during infinite analysis, pressing the y-key should cause the engine (if it supports it) to analyse the...

Re: Engine Style

Here are my comments on various engines' styles. Be advised that my comments are highly subjective albeit based on extensive usage. I expect disagreement. Fritz - very strong and suitably aggressive in all phases Hiarcs - extremely strong, often appears to play according to a plan, which gives it a ...
