Re: Andscacs nnue 0.1

Another disappointing aspect of this release is that it's in blatant violation of the GPL. Andscacs, as a closed source engine, cannot rely on the GPL'd NNUE code it copies unless the entirety of the source code is also distributed to the users along with the binaries... Sorry! Was not my intention...

:( I'll stick to plain old Andscacs. There are more than enough Stockfish nets floating around.
Was just a fun experiment :-) Nothing bad.

Andscacs nnue 0.1

Hello! I was curious about what could I obtain adding nnue to Andscacs. I went straight to nnue probe of Daniel Shawul: https://github.com/dshawul/nnue-probe After some work, manual tuning and testing, the result was beyond my expectations: 50+0.5 # PLAYER : RATING ERROR POINTS PLAYED (%) 1 Andscacs...

Re: Final Release of Ethereal, V12.75

I remember when Daniel Jose Queralto (I hope I've spelled that correctly) said he was ceasing development of Andscacs. He said it was because there was too little progress for a large time investment. I didn't think for a minute he meant progress against Stockfish or Ethereal. He meant progress of ...

Re: Final Release of Ethereal, V12.75

Hello! Nice effort and very nice results with your engine! I think we will see more neural nets in the engines soon, and they will be stronger than nnue alone :-) I use from time to time Ethreal to analyze positions of my ICCF games, as is different and a different point of view is valuable. I wish ...

Remote UCI

Hello. I found two tools to use remotely an UCI engine. One is the computer chess utilities, Netchess, of Bernhard Wallner. It works but ChessBase thinks is an x86 engine and limits its maximum hash to 3072 MB. And another is an old connect.exe of HGM that does not work in Windows 10. HGM, maybe can...

Re: Chess programming on YouTube: NOBODY CARES?

Hello!
Seems that you worked a lot!
In my case when I learn about something I prefer to search and read. Like this I go at my pace. So videos are one of my less used resources. But of course there are many people that like videos.
The best luck for you!
