Re: CEGT Marathon 40/400 repeated
Hi Norm :) , in all CEGT databases used for rating lists the duplicate games are deleted. For CEGT 40/400 there will never be a rating list. The reason is simply that it makes no sense to have one here, because a single game averagely lasts around 24 hours and it is not possible to collect enough g...

Re: CEGT Marathon 40/400 repeated
The problem of "duplicate games" is a problem that exists in all rating databases. Should a game count more than one time when computing the ratings? Even in this very small database there is a pair of duplicate games. [Event "CEGT Quad Extreme 40/400 repeated"] [Site "Engine Match"] [Date "2008.02....

Re: Zappa Mexico II Q6600 - Fritz 9 A1200, 3½-½
When a comparison is made of engine xxxx-6600 with engine yyyy-1200 and all other factors are the same, the result is based on TWO issues: the engines themselves, and the hardware. So if engine xxxx-6600 is 300 Elo points above engine yyyy-1200, we do not know how much is due to the engine itself, a...

Re: Is it time to get a faster computer?
A question about uci guis for a new computer.
What are some possible uci guis that would work with a 64-bit mp machine using Windows Vista Home Premium?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Is it time to get a faster computer?
I'm also looking for a new computer.
I noticed that AMD has a 3 CPU processor in the market. How does that work with MP chess engines? Can chess MP chess engines use all 3, or do they use only multiples of 2?

Re: Why wasn't strelka terminated?
I have a question concerning Strelka's reputation.
Why does one group of independent testers (CEGT) completely ignore Strelka, while another group of independent testers (CCRL) include almost 2000 Strelka games in its database?
It appears that one group "sees evil" and the other "sees no evil".

Petir4999999.exe works very well in Fritz9 (with Wb2Uci) on an AMD 3000+ using XP sp2.

Using Hybrid Settings
Here's my idea for making a hybrid setting. It is based on the empirical and generally accepted observation that white scores approximately 33 elo points better than black. Therefore playing as black should use a more passive style than when playing as white. This is done on the GM level, I believe,...
