Re: How does Mr. Rajlich know the Ippolit series is Rybka 3?
Interesting to know that i asked in private one of the most out outspoken against Vas, what proof he had. He actually told me, and im not making this up, that he knew it was true because Bob Hyatt said it was. Well, that's what most of us are going on. - Dr Hyatt and several others who have...

Re: A Very Novel Idea Concerning Vas- BE FAIR
You argued "Vas behaved unethically but so did others". I don't think this is a strong defense, to say the least No, I didnt say that. What got my protest that was the focus on Rybka and its author, not the outcome of the examination. And there you see the main point of my argument. If in a little ...

Re: A Very Novel Idea Concerning Vas- BE FAIR
EVEN IF Vas has violated the GPL -- -1. it would probably never be brought to court and tried successfully Could you please explain the basis for this claim. How do you know this? I remember other Rybka fans claiming Rybka was a "legal derivative" of Fruit - without even having determined what the ...

Re: A Very Novel Idea Concerning Vas- BE FAIR
Graham is not a liar. Did I say that? He is no liar. He is obsessed by his ideas and he don't accept other opinions. He is the one who usually starts the insults. I never insulted him. He called me thief, liar, idiot and much more. So seriously he is not the poor guy traced by others, he knows very...

Re: Rybka Cluster Rental
It needs to show its strength against a powerful computer run by a third party. The Rybka people have uploaded some games against R4 but there is a suggestion that they rigged the opening book.

Re: Whether Chessbase Will Sell Houdini In 2011?
I doubt it very much. If the dubious legal status of Rybka has registered with Chessbase, I can't believe they'll be happy about the situation and I doubt they'll want to start selling another engine of questionable legal status. Assuming that (i) Ippolit is a decompiled/ reverse engineered Rybka 3,...

Re: enough already with the rybka v houdini match?
In the TCEC Division 1, Rybka 4 actually did better vs the other engines than Houdini did (although Houdini took first place by beating Rybka).

Re: The List is Growing
I wonder if Fabien takes any pride in all this. The rating list is dominated by the bastard children of his engine, and their bastard children and grandchildren.

Re: Fabiens Letter - Rybka Derivative of Fruit?
A chess engine is competitive and the souces should be private in general. If someone releases the sources of a chess program, the reason is only to help others in learning how to write (or build) a chess program. It could be compared to a charitable act. True charity does not set restrictive condi...
