Re: Isa version 1.9.8 release
Thanks for sharing Isa, Daniel. 1st game I tested (Isa facing Mess Mephisto Montreux, ~2250) under 40/10 20/5 time control (moves/minutes), Arena 3.0, Isa decreased its thinking time in a very regular manner from around 30s getting out of book, to 1s (!) on move 40, thus playing several very fast mo...

Re: Deep Shredder 13 Windows out
Great work! Thanks to Stefan and Shredderchess team.
I was wondering what gift I would make to myself for my next/close birthday. Choose the single-core Shredder 13, quite affordable at 50€ and surely value the money. Easy buy, easy download & install (I am using Win7).
Happy birthday to me!

Re: Engines under 1600 ELO at CCRL for analysis
Bill Forster's TarraschToy engine - not in CCRL but strength is close to what you are looking for and analysis mode runs fine.

Re: Crafty and GNUChess under MS-DOS?
Hi Norbert, the GNU Chess 1987 version from Stuart Cracraft does. you may use options, sample: gnuchess.exe 40 10 to set 40 moves in 10 minutes; then commands described in the .doc file included. Most useful ones are 'easy' to toggle ponder on (default is off, default applies each new game) and 'swi...

Re: Zarkov Chess by John Stanback
Hi Norbert, Zarkov 5 runs natively under Chess Genius Classic (Chess Genius 7) GUI. The engine is a .dll + .eng file. Both engine & GUI are 32bits, thus one can run them on Win7 64bits (Genius 7 engine cannot).

Thanks, Stefano. It is nice to keep on developping Drago's family, more than 20 years after the beginning of the story!

Re: ChessGeniusClassic as WB/UCI engine?
Hi,
ChessGenius Classic is a GUI... Which can run several engines.
ChessGenius engine for PC is a 16bits engine, thus limited to old 32bits operating systems; it does not seem worth the update for years - my guess is technical and business issue.
So very little hope for an UCI adaptor, TMHO

Chess for Android trick: time control
Hi, I share a trick to use time control level in manual CFA <--> other opponent match, and avoid being flagged due to manual operations overhead: - start CFA time-controled game, thinking time is displayed and equal for both sides; e.g. 0:10:00 for ten minutes thinking time per time control - open C...
