Re: UCI and Linux

Hi What are my options (if any) to play human-engine and engine-engine matches under Linux and the UCI protocol? Sargon PS. Apart from xboard+polyglot :) xboard + polyglot + PSWBTM ! PSWBTM at http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gtg365v/PSWBTM/ makes it incredibly simple to have various kinds of tournamen...

Re: Reasons of the crisis... : some are evident !

If you don't like it, Don't read it,It's simple. It's not just that simple. When I open the subforum (be it in flat or thread view) I just see that some thread has new message(s) due to the fact that there is an orange icon. I have no way to guess that the newly added messages are just made of a fe...

Cluster chess : not only Grid but also Achilles

Djordje Vidanovic once told us about a cluster chess machine developped at Nis university in Serbia but there was not much echo here at that time. This "engine" has recently beaten a 2600+ GM in a four slow games match by 3.5-0.5. There is only very little information on this at Achilles home page (...

Re: Reasons of the crisis... : some are evident !

i do not think computerchess is in a crisis. Nor do I (and that is not what I posted). My post concerned CCC crisis, not computerchess as a whole. There are now other places where computer chess discussions are more lively and content-rich than the mean ones in our general forum. This was not the c...

Re: Reasons of the crisis... : some are evident !

CCC is not in crisis (...) I belong to the group of those who feel less and less happy with the present evolution of CCC. For what regards myself, the main concern is the lack of substantial content in a growing proportion of posts . How do you feel Swami when you post no less than 17 near one-line...

Re: Questions regarding the Election and Nomination Process

(...) I have a problem with someone changing my words in any form. I'm less disagreeable to the moderators removing the entire post if they think it is disagreeable. Because then it just disappears. But censorship by deletion is one thing. Censorship by selective redacting is something else. Censor...

Re: Fruit availability - 2 questions

I never purchased Fruit, but triggered by some discussion on a couple of current strong engines which i will certainly not mention by name, i want too now. Therefore 2 questions pop up in my mind: 1. Is the Fruit site still really up and so Fruit to be purchased? Although these are two very differe...

Re: Achilles' games vs other progs, figure out its ELO

Hi Marc, these are the results. I hope they will appear fine. More than just fine : very impressive, almost incredible. Is there a public version of Axon available for testing on a single PC? Btw, your rss feed was a revelation for me, thanks for all the info on your site. Thx :) Regards Marc

Re: Achilles' games vs other progs, figure out its ELO

Hi Dann, actually, I have here more than one hundred games, but the copy-paste didn't work the way it should have.... More than 120 pages of text file which came across as only ten games. Have no idea what happened. Djordje Hi Djordje What is the result of bayeselo analysis on the full set of games...

Re: Fruit testing : the final version ? ...

Hello Marc :) This is exactly what is tested in CEGT. The settings were provided to me by Ryan (presumably he received them from you as one of the best Fruit testers). Of course we were allowed by him to test and rate both your settings and Search Focus=1 + Playstyle=Aggresive by Ryan. Friendly reg...
