Re: Fire 5 question ...

Hi Norman, Nice to read you in the forum again, on top of that with these good news. When I remember well, Frank Quisinsky had predicted it: 2016 will be a good year for computer chess. I don’t' know exactly where, when and why he made this prophecy, but how right he was about that. After the new-bo...

Re: Hannibal 1.7

You have my respect for keeping your promise so right on time :!: http://talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60949&highlight=me Simply because of historical reasons Hannibal is to be expected that the pyrenees must not be an obstacle. In this case the engine will push Andscas (from Andorra, Pyrenees...

Re: OFAK. Fritz’s malicious castrations

Thanks for feedback. For my part, I already know (most of?) Chess Bases secret places. Here is the file: [ENGINE] Name=Nirvanachess 2.2 (popcount) 4CPU Author=Thomas Kolarik Filename=C:\Program Files (x86)\ChessEngines\Nirvana\Nirvanachess 2.2\Nirvanachess 2.2 (popcount).exe [OPTIONS] Threads=4 As y...

OFAK. Fritz’s malicious castrations

People who are only interested in short inputs and bare facts should jump to the bold typed “please note” passage immediately. Do you know the constant companion of an operator or programmer? For sure, it is the devil in detail. I don’t want imagine all the tragedies because of this this diabolic le...

Re: 60m+15s ; 15cpu ; ponder ON

I avoided to use the Fritz gui. Sometimes it is hard or impossible to resume tournamnts. Maybe it my fault, maybe gui. In shredder GUI tournaments can be much better controlled and games resumed. Just the live presentation is more effort. best regards, Clemens Keck Can i ask why Fritz GUI is avoide...

Hannibal 1.6.50 !?

There is a new version of Hannibal circulating and ready for download on many sites. The engine has participated shortly before in TCEC 2016 til Stage 2 (Hannibal 100616, should be nearly identical, I guess) and in the Deep Fritz 14 online tournament (Clemens Keck). The playing strength seemed to be...

Re: Fire 5

It isn't the debut of Fire 5. Fire 5 already played the last TCEC and won't ever released. Good to know, thanks. Maybe the author had not yet reached his self-defined limit for justifying a new release. Fire 5 needs 50 Elo to reach Houdini 4 and the third place in the CCRL-ranking. Using the usual ...

Fire 5

Hi Norman, giving Fire 5 its debut on the well known TCEC is a very straight and effective way of presentation , imho. Let’s go the whole hog! Unfortunately Fire lost his second game against Naum by “white's connection stalls” in an absolutely won position. I hope the problem can be solved permanent...

Re: A little reminder to Stockfish Team

In fact, three different engines with only one name!? That can definitely not be the builder’s intention. Let’s hope the busy FISHTEST people will take notice and take action on your message. As has already been explained, the abrok builder has nothing to do with the SF developers. The SF developer...
