Re: ChessTiger Update
There is also another issue in analysis mode. The 3-minute barrier is lifted with the update, very good. But, when having passed those 3 minutes, no new plies are being displayed. I have tried this with a few positions, running them for over an hour. And yes, i would agree that multi-pv probably sl...

Re: ChessTiger Update
The App Store is a very special case. Usual economic constraints and rules do not apply. Actually most of the REAL rules are not even known. You've done an experiment by launching at one price and reducing, so you have a real data point. I'd be surprise if you've seen a x5 increase in unit sales. I...

Re: Gambit Tiger 2.0/Chess Tiger 2011
For Christophe: If you do decide to release Chess Tiger 2011 for PC, will there be an update for Gambit Tiger 2.0 included? Those are fun and interesting games to watch. Best Regards, Gambit Tiger has been integrated as an aggressivity setting in Chess Tiger since version 15. So Gambit Tiger does n...

Re: ChessTiger Update
... selling 25 applications at .99 is much easier than 1 application at 25... For the vast majority of businesses the reverse is actually true. It's much easier to sell one product at a higher price than multiple at a lower. Trust me, I've studied it. Think about it, would it be easier to sell 4 co...

Re: ChessTiger Update
This has been done by design by Apple. Apps in the background are totally different on the iPhone than on a Mac or PC for example. On the iPhone they are extremely limited in what they can do. Actually they are too limited. Skype for example is barely able to maintain its connexion. Other IM progra...

Re: ChessTiger Update
I installed Chess Tiger for the iPhone and must say I like it. At the highest level it seems to give a reasonably good game but still is beatable at the fast play setting. The highest ELO strength I see is 2090, is that the maximum or is there higher settings than that? It seems that the highest st...

Re: ChessTiger Update
The name is not important. Look, you can have a horrible and nonsensical name like "Stockfish" and still be popular. ;-) True, but actually the iOS version is named "Stockfish chess", in order to make it easier to find accidentally when searching for chess programs on the app store. I have several ...

Re: ChessTiger Update
In your opinion, is the simulator counting the time correctly? Yes, I have even checked it with my watch now for 60 seconds. It looks 100% correct. The free simulator I found (apparantly done by Palm themselves or Palmsource) is available from various download pages, e.g. http://simulator-palm-os-c...
