Re: Strelka in Tournaments?
Wow, those are some cool statistical tables. Thanks for this site kirill and CCRL I have generated some interesting tables, including the one linked here http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404/cgi/compare_engines.cgi?e=Fritz+10&e=Fruit+2.2.1&e=Glaurung+1.2.1+32-bit&e=Hiarcs+11&e=Loop+13.5+32-bit&e=Nau...

Re: Strelka in Tournaments?
I am not sure what you have been watching to suggest they have a "very different style. I don't think i've ever seen two such similar engines. Here is what kiril said in a quote in this thread "Our "ponder hit" stats show that Strelka plays nearly identical to Rybka 1.0." I do not know if he was hyp...

Re: initial look at different fruits
ps...my longer tournement (40 moves in 4 minutes) with positional opening test set suggests that fruit 051103 may be as good as toga 1.3x4, and may be better than shredder 10 (but only 124 games so far)... Still, I suspect someone will find a stronger setting in 2.3. they just need about 10 computer...

initial look at different fruits
I started a quick test, 1 min and 1 sec, using noomen (chessbase) 25 test sets. I've stopped the test and have decided to continue longer testing with fruit 05/11/03. I will leave it to the testers with more resources to see if these very preliminary results reflect true differences Shredder 10 vers...

Re: are we to assume fruit 2.3 is the most advanced and best
thanks ryan.
I will be delighted if fruit manages to get to about the same strengh level as toga 1.3x4 and rybka 1.0 , and does so with its own unique style.

Is it assumed to be the best version, better than all the earlier betas?

Re: Fruit 05/11/03 tourney
fruit also lost to toga in my tourni, 11-17-34....However, it beat shredder 10 pretty handily...30-19-13.. (am going on memory as am currently testing fruit against rybka mp) It looks like a sizeable improvement for sure. I don't recollect seeing a fruit 2.3 with the file i downloaded? is there a ne...

Re: Fruit 051103 vs. Toga II 1.3X4 41,5-18,5 (!!)
I am not getting such good results thus far. Using the strategic opening test set, and 40 move in 4 minutes, repeating, toga 1.3x4 is winning thus far with 7 wins 3 losses and 15 ties. Still a ways to go though.

Re: Three chess rules which i can't understand . so need he
playing street chess in californnia, i discovered that on the street you are allowed to move your king into check, and are allowed to make a move other than getting your king out of check. I did not know this rule and did not know my king was in check, moved another piece, and the guy playing me ann...

Re: is there a chessmater for palm? Anybody have link?
thanks for the link.
It looks like chessmaster stopped supporting this four years ago. The program no longer works with modern palm operating system.
There must be no money in palm chess, if even chessmaster can't make money.
best
