Re: Its Aug.20..Do You Know Where The Voting Booth is?

Nobody should complain if they visit the forum so infrequently that they do not know an election is taking place. The election was announced on 9 August and the polls will close on the 27 August: that is long enough to include all members with a modicum of interest in what is going on here.

Be honest, Maria, which do you prefer - the photo or the avatar?

Re: Its Aug.20..Do You Know Where The Voting Booth is?

I would vote if the damn thing would let me. I guess I don't have the "minimum" number of posts. Does this one put me over the top? One would think that an active reader and occaisional poster would be allowed to voice an opinion through the democratic process as well as the motor fingers. I note t...

Re: Its Aug.20..Do You Know Where The Voting Booth is?

Hi Steve, As an example. No. I do not know the number of eligible voters. It is not clear what "active members for at least three months" actually means. Perhaps it means one post? I do know that 161 of the 955 members have joined since 20th May so that that reduces the possible number of voters to ...

Re: Its Aug.20..Do You Know Where The Voting Booth is?

Hi Steve, I have done a quick count from the member list. There are 357 members who have posted fewer than 4 times in total, and 470 who have yet to reach the 10 posts figure. As there are 955 registered members it means that only 485 members have ever posted 10 times or more, and many of those hav...

But an inactive member would not be aware that elections are taking place. Apparently the mods know whether a member has even logged on. Sam Hull indicated in about April that Paul Gift had not logged on since early January.

Re: Its Aug.20..Do You Know Where The Voting Booth is?

Of the 955 current registered members there are 265 who have never posted - plus a large number who have posted only once or twice. The list of members also contains the names of people who have ceased to post, so I would be very surprised if the number of voters approached 500 even if nobody were o...

Re: Nonsense

It is still a strange place to put a message about a dog. I could understand if it were one's wife or cat, but even in those cases I do not think CCC appropriate. Just my tuppence.
