Re: The Baron 3.41 configuration
Although the engine works ok for me in Arena (Windows 10) and Arena (using wine in linux) on 2 different computers, I cannot get it to use my 5 man Syzygy bases. I have tried both Winboard and UCI modes with the same result, and various settings in the .ini file without success. The Arena "Engine L...

Re: The Baron 3.41 configuration
I think it should be somewhere in the GUI (not engine) options, but I don't have a recent Shredder GUI.
A workaround could be to set all you need in the baron.ini and then set ucioption to off ...

Re: The Baron 3.41 configuration
My 6-man syzygy files are in the same directory on an SSD and all 510 are correctly found by The Baron. My ini includes syzygypath F:\Sakk\syzygy szqsearch on szdepth 0 I guess that is correct. Yes How does the the expected output of The Baron look like when it searches in a 6-man position and find...

Re: The Baron 3.41 configuration
Obviously something strange is going on when UCI_ShowRefutations is set to true. For some reason it doesn't show the PV anymore, which in its turn confuses the GUI. Could you try without UCI_ShowRefutations? I'm not using it myself and may need to look at that as it is not functioning correctly. PS:...

Re: The Baron - Latest Version Released
For some reason, I couldn't get it to run UCI commands from within a console window, but it seems to run fine as a UCI engine from within Arena. In the baron.ini file, I removed the # in front of ucioption on. The uci command indeed does not work. ucioption on is the default. The main reason behind...

Re: The Baron 3.41 configuration
I have Problems to configurate the engine proper to use my Syzygy bases. System: Windows 64bit, 5men Syzygy bases in one Folder on SSD: # Syzygy Base options # syzygypath: path to where the sygyzybases are located. # szdtzpath: path to where the dtz bases are located. Subfolders are _not_ included....

Re: The Baron - Latest Version Released
Unfortunately I did not implement this, despite the message in the release.txt.pferd wrote:Thanks for sharing this engine with us.
Does anybody know how to start it in uci mode via command line?
I'll produce a new 64-bits version later this week then as well, correcting this omission.

Re: The Baron - Latest Version Released
I haven't touched the winboard interface in quite some time so it doesn't support the later additions to the protocol.Ras wrote:I'm wondering why the author didn't just support the CECP command "memory".Guenther wrote:The delivered ini file starts Baron with 2GB hash
