Ultimate Definition Of Getting Screwed By Chessbase!

As anyone here other than newbies know- I have always defended chessbase. And their guis are all I have ever used except for Shredder 11. But I am not sure how far I can go. I counted up all my discs, and it is doubtful anyone has shelled out any more cash to them than I have over the years. Be sure...

Re: Think about building a moderation team

I think there is some need for moderators. Someone has to deal with trouble makers, mediate disputes, perform housekeeping duties. All for the purpose of protecting the flow of information between members. It would be good if some members who have an interest in the welfare of CCC and some time eac...

Re: Think about building a moderation team

How about no moderation team for a while ? Perhaps the best moderation is no moderation. I would be curious to see how that goes. So what? there will be some spamming and trolling, but it's already the case, and no moderation can prevent it. Sometimes moderation is even counter productive and spill...

Re: Think about building a moderation team

I think that the elections for moderators are approaching quickly. It could be the end of this month if my memory is correct. So, start thinking about building a/some team/s to be candidate/s. I takes time and if the elections are announced, it may not be feasible to do in a couple of days. Miguel ...

A Message To Sean Evans from George...........

Sean, I see you have done a lot of work here, and I am not going to look over it now simply because if I discuss another tester's work with him- it has to be because he contacts me and it is done in private. I feel better that way. But let me play devil's advocate here for just a moment. Your work m...

Re: Drueke

Drueke was bought out by Carrom back in 1990 and sadly, their current chess offerings are rather limited. They no longer sell their famous triple-weighted tournament plastic set (I have one; used it at ACM CCC 1994), nor do they sell their equally famous 23 inch board. Both are available from Our S...

Re: A chess set recommendation

If you enjoy playing chess against a program, you might like it even better if you're using a real, physical chess set. The extra work of moving the pieces is compensated by having an overall better experience. And, for long time over-the-board players, perhaps a higher standard of play. From Our S...
