Re: Stockfish wins TCEC
Congrats to the Stockfish team, this result is amazing 50.5-34.5 after 85 games. Wonder what latest Stockfish would do against the handicapped version of Stockfish that played the mythical AlfaZero.

Lichess temp ban for flaggers.
Just noticed a new feature for online chess that Lichess is doing now. When your opponent deliberately lets their time run out when faced with a completely lost position will suffer a temporary ban. This is good news for online players not sure if any other server has done this but kudos to Lichess....

Re: ThrowBack Tuesday - Nolot 11
Tested all the positions on my Nokia 8 cellphone loaded with Komodo 11 engine. All positions solved in less than a minute and many times are similar to Stockfish 8 running on the 2016 desktop hardware. The only exception is the position that had Tasc finding d3!! in 150 minutes, Komodo finds Bf5!! A...

Re: Chess World to Google Deep Mind..Prove You beat Stockfis
Okay I've been following this story since it broke and am open minded on the actual reality of it all. My main gripe with DeepMind/Google is their delay in posting more details about the match (missing games). Secondly they sprang this announcement out of the blue no forewarning of what they were pl...

Re: benchmark new smartphones:
Apple admit that older iPhones are deliberately slowed down, even a relatively new IPhone 6s will be slowed down with new software update. This news has left me with a slow 6s and explains why my 6s does not reach the nodes/s that is in the list.

Re: AlphaZero - Stockfish game 3
But even at move 60 we are already 20 ply from the position after 49...Kf8. I don't know if there is an improvement earlier in these variations. People! What are you doing here? Alphazero's games should have taught you one lesson and one lesson only: Do not trust SF and think for yourself! SF analy...

Re: AlphaZero - Tactactical Abilities
I have looked at the games , just the wins by A0. My impression is that we don't enough information to make conclusions. The whole 80000 n/s could mean that it classes the moves done by playing out positions in its motecarlo stage as actual nodes so 80000 could mean it self played 1000 games of 80 m...

Re: AlphaZero - Stockfish game 3
the supposed improvement Kf8 also loses. Truly remarkable for this all to be foreseen by A0 even when electing to sacrifice exchange with Rxc5. You are the second person in this thread claiming this but I don't have any proof. So it must be somewhere else? Where can we find the way to win? Not that...

Re: AlphaZero - Stockfish game 3
This move by SF8 was obviously caused by buggy repetion code. I got it sometimes: Analysis by Stockfish 8 64 BMI2: 49...Rf8 50.Qf4 a6 51.Qf3 d6 52.Bxf7+ Rexf7 53.Rxf7 Rxf7 54.Qa8+ Rf8 55.Qd5+ Rf7 56.Qa8+ = (0.00) Depth: 43/34 00:00:07 63337kN, tb=16441 SFDev is bettered in this now. Another reason ...
