Re: Go has fallen to computer domination?

I would not be surprised if weird opening moves in chess will be proven to be good alternatives to the status quo by something similar like Alphachess AI.

Re: Droidfish issue since latest security update on S6 edge

Just updated and still using Galaxy Note II, now it is stuck at 193 kn/s. Swiping from the left brings up the menu options but "Manage Chess Engines" only brings up "Select Engine" or "Configure Network Engine" which both lead to dead ends when trying to select the number of threads to use. In vers...

Re: Budget phone

Apple have stated that the iPad Pro can be up to 1.8 times faster than the current iPad Air 2. So I would not be surprised if it breaks the 3 million barrier.

Re: Budget phone

On my s6 when running droid fish I have 3 points on the right to go into the menu. You not ? The s6 is fine. It's the newer note 5 and s6 edge plus that's the problem (the best android phones for chess). There is no 3 points menu anywhere. Samsung has changed the menu system completely. I researche...

Re: Budget phone

For those that want to test the S6 edge which can't be done with droidfish at the moment then perhaps a test using the ChessBase app which has Stockfish can give a similar reading. The chessbase app menu can be accessed from on screen

And I thought that when the 64GB card came out that it was insane, tech just keeps marching forward.

Re: Chess Genius (Mobile)

At blitz I'd guess it would give Magnus a run for his money. At tournament time controls I'd guess 2500. Chess Genius on Palm Zire 21/31 was considered by some to be rated near 2250 on the SSDF list. The iPhone Chess Genius is nearly the same , if not the exact same chess engine , but on 6 or 6+ ru...

Re: I never used to believe Fisher. But now? maybe.

One weird claim that Fischer came up with was that the Karpov-Kasparov World Championship games were rigged in advance and that he had proof, but sadly he died before he could explain. I just don't see it, as that implies that their loathing and dislike for each other in those early years was just a...
