Re: Stockfish 2.1.1 and ccrl
I wonder how long it will be before Stockfish is banned from CCRL for whatever reason?

Re: Candidates Tournament
I have been following it, but I think the format of the tournament is ridiculous. FIDE has done a horrible job recently of running the world championship. Every year the rules have changed. This latest idea, where a world championship candidate can be chosen based on a blitz match, is not improving...

Re: What to do in this position??
1 Bxh5 is a draw. White can win both pawns for the Bishop, but then Black plays Kd6, waits for White's King to go back to g5 (which must be done to advance the pawns), and then plays his King towards g7.
If White doesn't play 1 Bxh5, Black can simply move the King towards g7.

Re: Houdini, Fire, IvanHoe, (and Rybka?) are 'clones'...?
So this thread has followed the same path of all of the others. As soon as facts come out, the people on the wrong side of the facts put spin after spin on things to divert the issue. There's no point in trotting out all of the reasons that spin doctors (i.e. trolls who can use big words) are useles...

Re: Houdini, Fire, IvanHoe, (and Rybka?) are 'clones'...?
Norman, give it a rest. IP*/Robo* are _clearly_ clones of something, produced by decompiling something. Bob... "If" (and that's a big 'if') Ippolit is the result of 'decompiling' (as you seem to somehow know as fact): Decompiling is not 'wrong' or 'illegal' in any way... it is a completely legitima...

Re: What's the latest on the Rybka-Fruit situation
Mr. Rajlich can't use Crafty or Fruit code in Rybka without permission from the respective copyright owners. Why is that hard to understand? No license agreement? Standard copyright law applies; refer to the highlighted sentence. If a license exists, then the terms of that license override copyrigh...

What's the latest on the Rybka-Fruit situation
Did I miss something here? Were threads moved somewhere else? Was the situation resolved?

Re: "Complex Tactics" such as bishop versus knight
In Bishop vs Knight endgames, the Bishop generally fares better (or does so more often over a large number of positions) because most endgames tend to be more open then closed in nature.

Re: ATM censorship has been relaxed on Rybka forum.
1. Rajlich is a nice man. 2. The copying took place a long time ago. 3. The offence was very minor. 4. The improvement that Rajlich obtained was very large. 5. The behaviour of Rajlich’s detractors is similar to that of a lynch mob. 6. ICGA is irrelevant. 7. The Rybka version under investigation is...
