Re: Ajax Chess 3.0

I was just surprised at the poor performance of Mozilla. It seemed odd to me that another browser would be 15 times faster. But looking at your numbers, I guess it's not such an oddity after all.

Nice job on the program, Gary. Amazing that a JavaScript based program can play a creditable game.

Re: Ajax Chess 3.0

I'm getting wildly varying speeds, depending on browser. From the opening position:

IE: approx 7,000 NPS
Mozilla: approx 8,000 NPS
Opera: approx 120,000 NPS
Chrome: approx 130,000 NPS

Is this normal?

Re: COLLECTION: Which engines comes with an own bench test?

TSCP has a somewhat similar benchmark command (bench is the command to start the benchmark in text mode).

Re: Need Help with ChessGUI

This may be a silly question, but have you tried Fruit with any other GUIs? Maybe it's the Fruit executable that is the problem, and not ChessGUI.

Ask Paul Wise why his account was disabled for a while earlier this term. If he doesn't know, ask Graham. Re: Silent updates to Woodpecker and OBender

You're probably right about these versions being recompiles. I only mentioned it because of the dates of the EXE files, and because their CRCs didn't match the CRC of any versions I had previously.

Thank you Miguel, and a big, big thank you for your efforts with your tablebases, and openly sharing your tablebase probing code.

Silent updates to Woodpecker and OBender

I was visiting the Evgeniy Korniloff site today ( http://evgeniy-korniloff.narod.ru/download.html ), and I noticed that the downloads for Woodpecker and OBender 3.2.x had executables dated June 6, 2010. It appears there's new versions of both of these programs.
