Re: ChessTiger Update

I'm still experimenting and I'm just starting to understand a little bit about it. So I still do not know what the optimal recipe is. Stockfish fulfills the needs of an infinitesimal fraction of people. It's a technical product made by a technical guy for people with the same set of mind. It does n...

Re: ChessTiger Update

There is also another issue in analysis mode. The 3-minute barrier is lifted with the update, very good. But, when having passed those 3 minutes, no new plies are being displayed. I have tried this with a few positions, running them for over an hour. And yes, i would agree that multi-pv probably sl...

Re: Taming the Tiger :-)

Rybwhat? Has this thing already been allowed to enter the next WCCC? As of now it has not been disallowed. Here are the main characteristics of the strongest engines in the world in the coming years: - free (as in free beer, not free as "open") and - illegal (by Copyright infringment of either GPL ...

Re: Taming the Tiger :-)

Closed source engines of suspect origin are not really the problem, because they can be decompiled if necessary. That is why there was a Strelka, and a Robbolito. In that sense they were also part of the solution. Clones marginalize the business end but that happens from the open source end too. Th...

Re: ChessTiger Update

The name is not important. Look, you can have a horrible and nonsensical name like "Stockfish" and still be popular. ;-) True, but actually the iOS version is named "Stockfish chess", in order to make it easier to find accidentally when searching for chess programs on the app store. I have several ...

Re: ChessTiger Update

Wow. Tord has been nothing but complimentary to you and Chess Tiger, and unless I am missing some hidden sarcasm in your posts you have been rather impolite to him. I didn't feel that any of Christophe's posts were impolite. He's a good friend and a very highly respected "colleague", and knows me w...

Re: Taming the Tiger :-)

You are entitled to your opinion about Chess Tiger not being competitive these days, but the only one who really knows is me. Christophe Your IPOD version of CT states it plays "World Class Chess" it correctly does not state it is the world champion or has ever been world champion. Everyone knows C...

Re: Gambit Tiger 2.0/Chess Tiger 2011

For Christophe: If you do decide to release Chess Tiger 2011 for PC, will there be an update for Gambit Tiger 2.0 included? Those are fun and interesting games to watch. Best Regards, Gambit Tiger has been integrated as an aggressivity setting in Chess Tiger since version 15. So Gambit Tiger does n...
