Not so clear

Post by Henk »

Yesterday I played with white with only 8 minutes left on the clock and my opponent one hour. For I was dreaming all the time.

[d] 2r1r1k1/ppqb2b1/2p1p2n/P3P2p/1PQN1Pp1/2P1B1P1/6B1/R4RK1 w - - 3 27

I played f5! But Stockfish does not totally agree. Because after Qe5 Re1 black has c5.

From the position, it looks like the opening was a Kings Indian Defense. As I understand it, computers notoriously misevaluate KID positions. That said, I think the engines have the evaluations right here (+-) for this position as the queen and rook (e1) are not on their best squares. Looking at some of the lines it does not feel as if blacks pieces are well coordinated.

I let the position run on Deep Analysis for a short time under these conditions.

Komodo 9.2 assigned to Root Candidates on Intel Quad Core Q6700 w/8 Gb Ram and 4Gb Hash
Stockfish 301015 assigned to Analysis Crawler on I7 Quad 4800MQ w/16Gb Ram and 8Gb Hash
Stockfish 301015 assigned to Response Moves on I7 Quad 47200HQ w/16Gb Ram and 8Gb Hash

After 8 Iterations
