The site claims that England does not rank in the top 30. Rubbish. It is in 12th place on the FIDE country rankings.

Those rankings are the average of the top 10 players. England does even better if you consider only the top 5 players, because only 5 countries have 5 players with a rating above 2660, and England is one of them.

Was the person in the audio referring specifically to the FIDE list or a ratio of chess players based on population of country?
