CBS celebrates Star Trek's 50th with first official Tridimensional chess set

The chess set was first introduced by Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock in the classic Star Trek episode titled Where No Man Has Gone Before.

CBS Consumer Products is continuing the 50th anniversary celebrations of Star Trek with the launch of the first official Star Trek Tridimensional chess set.

Launched to the US market on Wednesday, March 9th, the set is the only authorized re-creation of the chess set seen aboard the starship U.S.S Enterprise.

Taking traditional chess game play to a multitude of new levels, the tridimensional chess set was first introduced by Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock in the classic Star Trek episode titled Where No Man Has Gone Before.

The game has been released in honour of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek and arrives with a $275 price tag, courtesy of The Franklin Mint.

Fans of the hit sci-fi franchise can get their hands on a copy via the website www.TheFranklinMint.com as well as www.Shop.StarTrek.com. It will be available through all distribution channels beginning in April.
