I thought it is always effective to wait a little longer, or to accept it in a place which offers less money.

The issue is that the date for a championship is fixed. And right now, the problem isn't that other places offer less money - there just are no other places that would care for a tournament that is effectively on FM level.

They should all boycott the event and have it in the UK instead. Of course they will all be forced to wear bikinis instead here and pose individually for a calendar afterwards. This will help to make the game look more glamorous, boost sponsorship and prize money.
