WOW it is estimated that the top GM's make around $1,000,000 per year playing in different tournaments, but is this how GM Caruana live? like a king in his mansion? Look at all those computers and help team's members or second. Looking at all those computers with database availability at their disposal, that is why it is so tough or hard to win in classical games anymore. I believe that in the future world championship, if the match ends in a draw after 12 classical games, another 6 games should be played but both players using the sames 12 moves opening which is considered even by database analysis, and then rotate colours giving each player the same chance to play both sides of the same opening, and all the opening preparation could be avoided and simply determine who is the better player from the middle-game to the end.
