Anyone bought one of these yet?

Post by Larry »

They've been on ebay for a while now:

and they certainly seem cheap enough. I'm wondering what the
graphics and playing strength are like. Anyone know?

They are cheap and don't know anything about chess!

I would estimate them at <1000 ELO

And the graphics are too small to be useful! Similar to Star Ruby/Star Sapphire, but much smaller! And you won't find many SR-owners, that don't complain even about these bigger displays...

Now it's up to you!

No! :o I actually never bought one because of what Robert said about them! Then again, you do get a block of plastic for your $5, so who am I to complain?

Melt it down like an Airfix pilot Regards

I wonder when it says it can beat 99% of all chess players and be about 1000 elo.Maybe it means 99% of chess players can beat it!Or are they counting chess players everyone in the world or even chess players that have died.
I wouldn't write it off too soon as in a few more years a little device like this for that price and performance will be a reality.
