I am not a new customer!!
he has got everything he needs to send me the new key..... I am not a new customer of him!!! I am one of the "old" ones.... I paid already for the program some years ago; as I changed my palm from one model to another i am only demanding he gives me the new key, because the deal said that upgrades were free..... and i am not guilty about his quit developing chess tiger .......

Re: I am not a new customer!!
Are you sure that all upgrades are free?Maybe just the upgrades in each version number are free.So if you bought a versiont hat had 14.# as it's prefix then all of the versions of Palm Chess Tiger 14.# will be free. Then when the 15 version came out then you are expected to pay and will get all remaining versions free in the 15 series.
I find it hard to believe that a programmer will offer existing customers a free upgrade all the time. But if you have a record of it and can support your claim then you maybe right.
Maybe it was when Chess Tiger was running under another company and has now changed to a new company?
I have just downloaded the 15.2 demo and am running it on my iPaq PPC with StyleTap emulator.I did a speed index test at the start and get a value of 3.78.The demo mode is too restrictive for my liking so won't be going ahead with a purchase. Why do they make the demo so restrictive? You can't, analyze a game, setup a test position, change the hash table size, save or load games, etc.

Re: I am not a new customer!!
Alex and others: the real thing is that i had chess tiger 15.2 installed and running smoothly in my old palm, and upgraded from a 14 version....... without any problem..... Why if i change my palm model and it asks for another key he doesnt want to give it anymore????
By the way, i can tell that Chessgenius and hiarcs for palm os are better than chess master; so it is enoug for me......
Thx.

Just so you know, this is a different algorithm. DTS actually stands for Dynamic Tree Splitting. Here is the Bob Hyatt paper that you were talking about: http://www.cis.uab.edu/hyatt/search.htmlEelco de Groot wrote:I found the following link about DTS, Distributed Tree Search, and other approaches to parallel searching:

Thanks Zach! Sorry for misdirections! Maybe we should give it a new name and acronym, how about HIADTS named for prof. Hyatt and standing for HIghly Advanced Dynamic Tree Splitting algorithm..Zach Wegner wrote:Just so you know, this is a different algorithm. DTS actually stands for Dynamic Tree Splitting.
