That's what I thought which is why I've used the latest HS-Book.abk book.
Also, I've encountered a few unfair lines in the Mainbook whereas the HS-Book has been fine.
Just wanted to be 100% sure.

It is unfair to include any specific-engine book (Rybka book by Dr. Wael Deeb) in this general-purpose book poll!

Please make a separate poll for Arena Rybka Book too !

Yes - the Rybka.abk book is made for Rybka rather than as a general purpose book, so shouldn't have been included in the poll.
Also it should have been made clear that the HS-Book and Mainbook are the same. I suspect that it might have received more votes if it had.

Close second is Mainbook by Harry.
Hi Chris,

my understanding is that the HS-Book.abk is the mainbook (just new name)?

Is Olivier's book available from the Arena site? If so, I'll give it a go in my next Arena tournament.

Regards, Graham.
Yes that is true.

HS-Book.abk is the snapshot (work in progress) release of Harry's book which are released on Patrick Buchmann's site, Le Fou numérique.

Final versions appear on the Arena website under the User Files section as does Olivier's GM Book for Arena.

Regards

Christopher
Hi Chris and Graham :)

The version that is available for download at the Arena website is very much outdated. I would suggest to build a more recent version out of my pgn collection (that can be found on my website).

Thanks Olivier.

Sadly it seems as though your book is not the only outdated version available for download. :(

I can't see how anyone can vote for the Rybka.abk book in this poll because my understanding is that it's an engine specific book as opposed to a general purpose book.
Therefore it's unfair to include it in this poll.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Perhaps if there was a poll on which was the best engine specific Arena book, the Rybka.abk book would win hands down?

Regards, Graham.

PS - Chris and Wael - please don't start getting personal again! :(

Hello Graham. I think the poll should stand. Makes a good
comparison of the diff. books.
