Robert, can you post the entire game here? It´s hard for
our engines, I am curious about the continuation.
Thanks,
Paulo Soares

Polgar vrs knaak...1990
BTW, my old WChess found move 19....f3...!

I really doubt any computer will try to open the G file (move 16) for an attack on the king side..etc.

Re: Great Test Move.......any takers?
Thanks by the game.
Until the move 18… Qd7 it is equal to Deep Fritz 10 Book, also 16.g4.
The move 9… Qxe5 is considered bad in the book. 19. f3 is the first
move out of the book.
I don´t know if the teory consider anothers moves instead
16.g4, but the programs don´t like it.

Yes, I know..that why it is a good test move...
Computers (as yet) can not "make a plan" to open the g file for an attack and later play..Rg1..etc.
Maybe someday they will...
Thanks for trying anyway...

Robert

That's what people often don't see, computers can't plan anything, and when it looks like they have, it's all based in search or rulebases et al.rightrook wrote:>>> but the programs don´t like it.<<<<

Indeed, computers can't play chess in the fullest sense!
They are tactical monsters, which don't tire, with knowledge built in.
They simulate chess, not perfectly, but well enough to beat a GM when he or she slips up on some tactic.
