Poll: Do we need a "Strelka is/isn't a clone" subf

Post by Tord Romstad »

This is getting ridiculous. Right now, I count ten different threads about the Strelka/Rybka issue on the first page of the "General Topics" subforum.

It would help if some were a little more forthcoming with answers.

Until that point I can see no end to the threads and why it should bother you I have no idea.

Wait....thats a lie.....I do have an idea....

Your Glaurung thread keeps getting pushed to the bottom....

I think that people can respond on the same thread instead of starting new threads.

Note that I did not start a single thread about the subject and only responded.

Me as well Uri....not one thread started.

I have like you a few very important questions by it seems someone with 30 years experience in programming cannot answer them....

It just gets stranger and stranger....

I wonder if a new SmarThink is on the way as well.

Then it will be open season.

Hi Tord,

I don't understand the point of this post,Do you believe the moderators would
create a sub forum for anything else let alone clone accusation, I certainly don't believe it. Maybe was this post a humour in an attempt to stop guys from creating new threads?

what is more ridiculous is that those who downloaded and accused the engine of a clone never thanked the author for updating it (what with UCI version and very different changes) instead they went on and on with their accusations in different threads.I certainly do not want to see a 10 flame war thread.Maybe I suggest that moderators delete new threads and keep one already existing thread where the guy gave a link to download strelka 1.8.

Hopefully with the next strelka version, the number of threads will be reduced to 5,3...1(One hell of a thread that would be!)....and then there were none!

This is the second time that this forum becomes a Rybka forum.
This time is not a pure Rybka forum, but a Strelka-Rybka forum, but the whole noise i guess it is because Rybka's name is involved.

This is what Chess strength does.....
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

Yes, the poll was nothing more than an attempt to express my mild annoyance about the many Strelka/Rybka threads in a humorous way.

My latest theory is Strelka is not a clone. The programmer of Strelka is a clone of Vasik and just happend due to genetic circumstance to develop something very similar! Evidence, compare these:

and this:

See, Hollywood is already using Vasik clones on TV!
