With Grief I Announce the Death of "Negrita"

Post by fern »

You all know:when in pain, its is somewhat necessary to tell to friends. Wednesday at 23:30 died my beloved Negrita, a 16 years old ordinary dog that was with my daughters along every step of her growth. Negrita was a nervous, animated dog, full of life that gave us many things, love first of all. She died peacefully after we were compelled to put her to sleep due to the fact she was beginning to suffer a lot.
Ok, nobody cares about this, but I felt the impulse to tell.

Good night
Fernando

I am sad to hear of your loss. I grew up with a cocker spaniel named "Laddie". All dog lovers know how much love a dog can bring to a family.

Not quite true. Anyone with an ounce of compassion knows how
hard it is to lose the family dog. Especially after such a long time.
I recommend you take your wife out to the pet shop and pick out
a nice pup to transfer the love to. You may think that's impossible
but it actually works.
understanding regards

Hi Fern,

Sad to hear you lost your dog :(

I hope you will find quickly a new friend that likes to chew on the pieces off your -let's say - Mephisto Bavariaboard

Best wishes,

André

My condolences to you and your family. I lost one of my dogs two years ago after having to put her to sleep as well.

It's said that the only problem with dogs is that they don't live long enough.
May you meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. :)

Sorry to strike a discordant note but I completely agree with Graham's well-known views on dogs. Should this post not have been on CTF, Fernando? Or did you have the recent threads on dogs there in mind?

I'm sorry to hear about your and the family's loss. Over the years I've seen many four legged friends, family come and go. Both dogs and cats. Many living well over a decade and one cat that lived nearly 20 years.
They are all missed. Many people don't understand the bonds that people have with their pets, that they are more than that, that they are family!

My Condolences,
Terry

I feel your loss. I had to put down my dog 2 years ago. Most horrible, painful experience I ever had to go through in my whole 40 years of existence hear on earth. I think of her everyday. TIME is the factor here my friend. I had my girl for 15+years. She was with me through the worst periods of my life. She was a real comfort for me. I am glad I took many pictures of her so I can look at them now & then. Keep the tears flowing .... it helps.

Hi Fernando, Further to my last reply, I should add that I'm about
to lose my eldest brother to prostate cancer. He has hours, or at
best, days, to go. He is semi comatose.
He lives at the opposite end of this big country to me,
and I fly out of Sydney tomorrow night to be at his side. I did'nt
book a return flight because he could hang on for a week or more.
However, two of his sons will be up there on Thursday and the
doctor asked that they try to get there sooner.
It's expected that parents die, and it comes as no shock when they
do, but when siblings start going it's a reality check for all of us
post WW2 baby boomers.
He's aged 64, and ignored the early warning signs of a prostate
problem until it was too late. He had been living a hillbilly lifestyle
around the back of Darwin harbour, using untreated tank water
and shutting down the generator at night leaving the freezer to
keep the food frozen until morning. There was no need to live like
that but he would'nt be told.
Excuse me for extending this off topic post, but this seemed the
most appropriate place. We are all just passing through.
thanks for reading
