I believe it has to do with the way the page is redirected. Firefox only remembers the login information for the original page, and wont log you into a redirection of that page. So, if the original page is an IP address and it redirects you to a different IP address, the automatic login wont work. (Something like that anyway).

Did the address for Talkchess change in the past week?
As far as I am aware, the Talkchess address is the same....

The address(redirected) is the same of course, but the IP behind
changed at least two times in the last 2 months.
Follow the advice from an earlier post by Jacob Hales and login
will work automatically again for you. It sure did for him and me.

If you use firefox, use the tools menu at the top, go into options, choose show cookies and delete the talkchess one.
Then try logging in again.

Regards, Graham.
Thanks Graham, Ive been away for a while and it seems to work fine now.

Thanks,

Do you go directly to http://www.talkchess.com/forum/ ?

I was having problems by using something else, but http://www.talkchess.com/forum/ seems to work fine.

Hi Graham,

It doesn't work.

To write this message, I must log in 10X before it works.

It's the same at home and at office ( ), with IE7, IE6, Firefox and Opera.

Patrick
