Hi Graham,

Do you think that the Caro-Kann is a good choice for black? Or do you think it is a sign that black is trying to draw to the macth. I would think black should play the Sicilian if he wants to have hopes of winning the match. Just my thoughts ...

I think Vas wants an opening that gives Black some play and therefore some chances.
This variation should be interesting.

I cannot understand what is the reason that Rybka shows 0.00 eval all the time. I cannot believe it's dead-equal. I think white has a small, but steady and comfortable edge.

22. f4 looks like a horrible positional mistake, doesn't it?

Reminds me of a game Nimzowitch-Capablanca ( Peter in Alzheimer mode).

The position isn't sterile which is the main thing as far as Black is concerned. :P
A few moves further down the track, both sides think they have a tiny edge.

Could you please explain? I thought it was ok, fixing the knight's outpost in e5. Then, it opens a possibility for Deep Junior-style push f4-f5.
