[/quote]A year back or so others and I tested(openly, with mutual consent) this on the playchess server in the engine room.we downloaded big files as fast as possible, but got no lag whatsoever. If you want lag get a bad isp.
Note that the people with a bad connection and big lag also have low ratings too.

Also some of the top players suffer from bad connections due to: their internet providers maybe?

I´m just a bit skeptical about lag cheating.it prolongs games so it is something of an double-edged sword. In human/human games using computerassistance would seem to be a better choice.
The lag-method described,if it would work at all would be way too clumsy practically speaking, starting and stopping downloads.

About father cheating,he doesn´t.
The only cheating he does is posting his sucsesses(measly draw shuffle games) and ignoring his countless defeats.

amen . m anasari. are there really lag cheats? is it possible? I have worked hard to get a big time advantage only to have a lag suddenly come in and give my oponent time to survive. very frustrating.

Ct2007 has this "anti-anti-chess"
you won't see father trying his hand on it
against atleast one special book he is pretty powerless too.
Special settings might help too,but the standard type of " prefer open lines" don't always help

I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.
