I'm not sure what is exactly but it is something with the result of the game. In the next game in ICC seems Glaurung to have resigned in a winning position:
I don't believe Glaurung has any resign code at all. Resigning was done by your GUI. Probably your GUI interpreted the negative scores as losing?

Manualy played game I guess,right :?:
I have bought Virtual Chess 2 a couple of years ago and I was thinking to include it in my tournaments....it reserves one of the cpu's on the opponents time, right :!: :?:

Hello Jesús,

I am not sure what the problem could be, and without log files it is difficult to find out. Is it possible to produce log files of the communication between the engine and the GUI in the GUIs you are using?

Ken is right, the engine itself cannot resign. The only two explanations I can see for the resignations you observe are that Glaurung sometimes prints score with the wrong sign, or that the GUI misinterprets good scores from Glaurung as bad scores. Both explanations seem extremely unlikely. Wrong signs from Glaurung should have been visible and cause incorrect resignations in my Mac OS X GUI, too, and I've never seen them there. Misinterpretation by the GUI should cause incorrect resignations from other UCI engines as well, and you and other users should have discovered the problem long before Glaurung 2.1 was released.

Has anyone else observed this problem?

Yes, it was played manually...and yes, it does think only on one CPU. Virtual Chess' style is particularly difficult against humans, especially at blitz.

They were not added that night, as some of you already have complained about. Sorry for the delay. Now, the download package has been updated with 32-bit and 64-bit GNU/Linux executables, compiled with GCC 4.2.
and an updated Mac OS X GUI will be ready within a few days.
This still isn't quite ready, but you can download a beta version which is mostly usable. It also contains a development version of Glaurung which is probably stronger, and plays more aggressively than Glaurung 2.1.

This weekend I`m very busy, but I'll try to reproduce the problem with log files in next days.
