Would appreciate if someone could advise whether there is a free, good opening book (CTG and/or abk) which has a wide and balanced coverage in Stonewall Attack.

Thank you.

Hi Gerold,

I am aware of the article in Wiki. Thanks.
I'm looking for a computer chess opening book, ctg or abk.

Thank you!

You could always download a large number games that used this opening then make your own ctg book very simply. For example here is a free database of 4 million games as a good source which you can download then search by opening or position. Then use Fritz GUI to create a new book from those games.

And here is another site giving links to millions of games/database downloads

I have searched the 2,000 best games in my collections, where the pawn structure: c3/d4/e3/f4 appeared within the 10 first moves. I have generated a CTG book from these (max. length 40 plies):

http://rapidshare.com/files/123798346/s ... g.zip.html

It is not a big book and doesn't contain further editing, but maybe it is useful for you, to explore what happened in practical games with that structure. 1969 games are from human master chess incl. history, and I added 31 games with computer participation to make the 2000 complete.

This is the Scid database format, also used by ChessDB.

http://scid.sourceforge.net/

But I see that download links for the PGN (portable game notation) format are also there, on the Icofy site.
