Tony's noplay list update 28

Update 28, Tony's no play list
No new engines were added to the list, but MFchess still has problems even after Jim fixed it about three times. I am willing to run some games if he sends me a version that creates logs. I am currently playing around with Mainsworthy, it doesnt seem to like incremental time controls and loses on time. I will see if it plays a fixed time control before adding it to the list.

AKIBA 0.0 (version number not known) (moves too slow and loses on time)
Alice 0.35?? (frequent time losses, could be a cygwin problem)
Animats Chess 1.1.1.1 (not suitable for tournaments)
Apilchess 1.05 rev.1b (eternal pondering)
Arics 0.95 (does not move)
Bachess 1.3 (always runs out of time)
Babychess 11.1 (frequent crashes, illegal moves etc) Later versions not available..
Blitzer 2.0 (unexplainable time losses)
Brama 051204 (time losses)
Crux 5.0m (crashes about 10% of the time, decently strong engine)
Dendron 0.42 (frequent illegal moves)
El-Turco 0.93 (crashes)
Fianchetto (doesnt move in some games)
iChess(I just cant get it to work)
Jaksah 1.01 (time losses)
Joana DC by Juan Pablo Menoza (crashes, and subsequent time losses)
Knightmare BP (does not follow 3/0 or 1/1 time controls)
Lamosca 0.10 (time losses)
Lightning (The) 2.04 (time losses)
MFchess 1.1 Ja Fix 3 (time losses)
Microchess 1976 ( time losses, illegal moves)
Mooboo 0.4e (illegal moves, time losses)
Muriel aka KDL chess 0.71 (time losses, could be hardware specific as others arent having problems)
Neophyte (loses every other game on time, I dont know the exact reason)
NSVchess 0.14 (illegal move during compatibility test)
Pulchess 0.2i (doesnt follow any time controls)
Sharpchess2 2.52 (time losses)
Simontacchi 1.8 decepticon (time losses)
SmallC_90 (time losses)
Strategicdeep_125 (time losses)
Taktix 2.23 x (time losses, fine in you are using tournament time controls)
Talvemanni 0.0.1 (does not follow any of the time controls xm+1sec, game in x or 40 moves in Xminutes)
Testina 2.2
Trynyty 1.0 (bugs that I am scared to explain)
Usurper 0.5 (time losses)
Youk 1.05 (during compatibility test it resigned against me in a fairly equal position)
Zchess 2 from Eamonn Ramsay (loses on time, 100% of the time)
Zephyr 0.61 (time losses)

Update 29, Tony's no play list

Mainsworthy added to the list, from the looks off it, it will be off the list soon, as it is still being actively developed. It doesnt follow incremental or fixed time controls (not in fast games anyway). Tested new engines that are fine includes Schola 1.00, Cheoss 0.649, Chess 2.8, and Sissa 0.4.

There's a bug in MFChess which causes random crashes and time control still needs some work, I'm working on it :)

Hey Tony Thanks For putting Mainsworthy on the list! only Evaluator() function updates from now on.

What are you testing it on, to determin Time controls? Winboard? Im asking as I can try and get it better working?

Thanks Mark

Shouldn't Tony's Chess be on your no play list as well? It's not known as a program that plays nice with others.

Hello Jim

The original author is trying to fix the bugs too, you should both unite your efforts :)

Hi Olivier,

Author Mats has asked if it might be better for me to fix it.
He hasn't looked at the code in 10 years :)

I didnt add it to the list, because your descriptions say that it doesnt follow any time controls. Since it is something you already know, and because you helped me collect a lot of the engines, it didnt feel right including it in my list.
