New Shreder and Stephan endeavour from now on

Post by fern »

I talked -trough mail- with Stephan long ago about lot of things regarding his program and I concluded from his directs utterances and from what I felt that he is not so much engaged in the old path of getting the stronger engine -obviously he try to improve it anyway- available, BUT to aim at making his program more useful for human customers, as always should be with any contrivance.
He told me he was working in some enterily new heuristis for that goal and surely thta is what he will deliver to us this time.
I am happy with that becaus anyway shredder engine is a 2800 elo or so, more than enough to crush me to cenders. What we really need is something capable of really playing at different levels without doing an addtion between good and preposteorus moves.

My best

yep, he mentions this in his latest interview (link is down there somewhere). looking forward to it.

i have to say it's a bit ironic that he's emphasizing the 'human' aspect of shredder since shredder's natural playing style is probably the most machine-like i know of.
