Hi friends,
since Yahoo is closing all its Geocities sites soon, I´ve now created my ChestUCI website at a new location:
http://fhub.110mb.com
(it´s still the same version 5.1, I´ve only updated the ChestUCI database!)
Since I have more webspace and bandwidth at this new server, maybe (!?) I´ll also upload some of my other projects there in the future (e.g. my solar/lunar eclipse programs), but don´t hold your breath ...
Regards,
Franz.

Re: New homepage for ChestUCI
Hi Denis!
My new site has nothing to do with Google.
Or do you mean that you couldn´t find it with Google?
Well, it´s just too new ...
(Why Latvia? Aren´t you from the Philippines? )
Ok, here are some interesting future eclipses for Riga/Latvia:
Regards,
Franz.
Why Google???Denis P. Mendoza wrote: Even now I couldn't use Google

Re: New homepage for ChestUCI
Ok, my solar/lunar eclipse programs are online now:
http://fhub.110mb.com
The Windows version (WinSomofi) is in English and works on any Windows-PC. I´ve written it a few months ago, so of course it looks much better and is easier to use. Only a (very!) short description is included (in English and German), but the GUI should almost be self-explanatory (at least for astronomy fans).
The DOS version (Somofi) is my original program on which I´ve worked more than 10 years (since 1992). It has some additional features, but it´s only in German and may probably not run on every PC (depending on the Windows version and the graphic card).
I just publish it for ´historical´ reasons ...
Regards,
Franz.

Perhaps it was transferred in text mode.

Same error here. Looks like this is a 110mb.com issue, and has been in the past.Dann Corbit wrote: This file is bad:

Someone else on these forums had a site with them and there was nothing but headaches with downloads and site performance.
I wonder how much space Franz needs, and how much bandwidth he needs a month?
I could host him if he wanted. Whether it is a subdomain off one of my endless list, or he can get one from Go-Daddy.com right now for $7 I believe. goaz006c is the coupon code. I just registered ihtek.com for a total of $7.17.
That is pretty good for a domain.
Peter
I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

What exactly is the problem with the file?Peter Skinner wrote: Same error here. Looks like this is a 110mb.com issue, and has been in the past.
Doesn´t it download correctly or is the downloaded ZIP file corrupted?
It should have a filesize of exactly 474039 bytes.
E.g. Matthias Gemuh uses this provider for his ´biglion´, and so I came to this site, too.Someone else on these forums had a site with them and there was nothing but headaches with downloads and site performance.
Before 110mb.com I tried www.free-space.net, but after one day the rejected my registration without telling me the concrete reason ("There are many possible reasons why your sign up was denied."), so I looked for any other free host.
About the costs for such a website:
Well, as a matter of principle I don´t want to pay for it, not even if it´s only one single $!
I´ve worked thousands of hours on my different programs and I´m giving them away absolutely for free, so the last thing I would do is to pay in addition for publishing my freeware programs.

I have heard of chest but never tried it. Is is an MP capable program? I think it is great to have a module that can find difficult mates and maybe can reduce the required storage space for EGTB's.
