I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face.Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.

Re: View more Emoticons. Man versus Machine Rybka 3 2009
Dann isn't that a normal French, Exchange variation? Why do you consider that an unusual move? To see something interesting I think you would have to let calculate Rybka for days and then it could still be any normal opening variation, for the first few moves that is, ending in, whatever . It could be Spanish, Petroff, Danish Gambit, anything I think. Pablo's position just too balanced? And maybe Rybka 3 wants to unbalance it?

place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

The thing that is unusual about it is that strong engines rarely play it.Eelco de Groot wrote:Dann isn't that a normal French, Exchange variation? Why do you consider that an unusual move? From my super-high end slow time control game list, we have this predicted move count:
pm Na6 {3} Nc6 {283} Nf6 {636} a6 {1} b6 {74} c5 {38599} c6 {6652} d5 {720} d6 {1536} e5 {20915} e6 {9312} g5 {4} g6 {890};
So c5 happened 38,599 times and e6 9,312 times (ranking behind both c5 and e5). The sum of c5 and e5 is 59514, so the ratio of those two moves being chosen before e6 is 6:1. And yet, after a thorough analysis, it seems to have a very good score.
The evaluation is very nearly equalized. If it is correct, then this is something very interesting.

Let's add that since 1. e4 is emprically the most frequent move in the game of chess, the best response could be argued as either the first or second most important move in the game of chess.Dann Corbit wrote:The thing that is unusual about it is that strong engines rarely play it.Eelco de Groot wrote:Dann isn't that a normal French, Exchange variation? i also like to give new engines a deep think at the start position to see what kind of openings they play. i was a bit disappointed that R3 favors the french, as i personally hate it. iirc dynamic actually favors c5 after a short while, but i think switches to a french as well.

I have not run R3 against it, but 2.3.2a said:yanquis1972 wrote:i also like to give new engines a deep think at the start position to see what kind of openings they play. i was a bit disappointed that R3 favors the french, as i personally hate it. iirc dynamic actually favors c5 after a short while, but i think switches to a french as well.
