Hi !
I think the best is Ktulu 8 ( I haven't Ktulu 9 ) !
But ...... most of ( if not all ) chess engines without access to EGTBs has some internal EGBBs.
Others good engines in endgame- without access to EGTBs : Glaurung 2.2 ( and the great derivative StockFish 1.4 ); Thinker 5.4D.

Hi,
very interesting Testsuite!
One Question:
177 positions de finale testées - Note maximale possible: 100 - Actualisé le 08-08-2009
but you have 180 positions.
* Positions 151 à 160
* Positions 161 à 170
* Positions 171 à 180
why not all 180 tested?
The downloadable pos are: Test des logiciels en finale - Positions 1 à 155

Hi all,
Thank you for your kind reply.
Ludovic Didierlaurent, unfortunately your link is not in English and I can only read English and Chinese. I think your test is based on 2 CPUs. Would it be similar result for 1 CPU??

Hahaha
Are you trying to tell us you don't how to use a web browser?
I love these kind of "going nowhere" threads. They give me a kind of warm feeling.
With regard to endgames (to be on topic) there are many (even now) engines that you might consider "strong" that are relatively stupid without help in the endgame. Perhaps someone like Franz might comment (if he is not too busy)?
My opinion is that one should start at the opening, and in that way one might create a productive endgame (maybe even a better middlegame).
I believe that openings are better than endgames and that games that have openings always have ends.....

Re: which is the best engine in endgame?
What's the point to test "without using any endgame table"? Makes absolutely no sense at all, if engine supports them, when 3-4 tablebases takes 30 MB and bitbases 3MB!! Have You short of RAM

It's just because it takes a lot of time to update my site. I updated the 180 positions but now I have to update the ranking list of engines and also the pgn and chessbase file available at the page telechargement (=download in french).
