An idea for Vas about releasing rybka4 mp

People will have to pay 100$ to buy one personality without knowing if it is the strongest personality or not(and they will only know that it is at least 50 elo stronger than rybka3 mp).

People who are interested to find out what is the best engine will need to buy 100 different personalities of rybka and do a lot of testing(and buying 100 different personalities means that Vas get 10,000$)

It may stop the claims of the people who claim that Vas does not sell the best engine because even if some ubknown people release something that beat Rybka4 version 7 then it is not a proof that it beats rybka4 version 17.

Even if somebody buy 100 different personalities then it is going to take a lot of time to find the best personality and at that time Vas may release 100 different personalities of rybka5 so again people will not be able to be sure that Vas does not sell the best engine.

This would make computer chess a weird hobby, or perhaps it already is to the extent.

Expend too much money buying personalities of same engine, waste electricity by testing all of them and report results to the master?

I'd say he can keep his Rybka 4 to himself....I'll buy it only if it's stronger than Rybka 3 by 100 Elo at least and if it's not a dumped version of the rental one....so I guess I'll never buy it....

Agreed, but it would be a bit expensive, if you want the best... (according to your judgement criterion).

And I'm rather sure that, after a few days, we will see on some site, an ELO evaluation, so that the weaker ones will be forgot forever.

I'm again repeating myself: I believe there are ( at least), two categories of users: anlayzers and players
Analyzers will need a version (slow, but with a lot of knoledge inside, to avoid blunders as much as possible) , and players, that could choose personalities, according to their tastes, style of play, and so on.

The pure chance of getting what you really want, is a real lottery: sure it's the best for sellers, not for customers ( BTW- I'm ready to buy some of personalities, not ONE, whether their characteristics were dedeclared).
