Best move played by Bronstein here is 14.Bxh6
Deep Junior 2010 on my quad takes about 31 minutes to find it.

of the engines i've tried so far, spark seemed the most promising, at least giving Bxh6 serious consideration before passing back over to Nf5. since MP results can be a bit random maybe someone else will have better luck with it. i'm a man of little patience & typically if a modern engine can't solve a chess position within 5-10 minutes i consider it to have failed. :)

here's HIARCS 12.1MP "Aggressive" (this is the kind of position that is simply custom made for HIARCS) --

haven't tried default. might toy around with the UCI settings some more & see if i can improve it. i imagine HIARCS 13 will eat this position for lunch whenever it's finally released.

the latest IH compile finds it one ply earlier (or possibly just MP luck) --

same-ish depth (if you assume +3) but 30 minutes late to the party. again, could be simple MP bad luck/good luck.

Rainbow Serpent does show a little plus score eventually when I let it run longer, but is not really fast. If you let them run longer the Quads should become a little more positive too! The year for the tournament was a little off the mark...

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
