Thanks Swami. Based on my observation on TL's games that it often loses due to weaknesses on pawn shelter and storm, so your tests confirms the weakness of my engine.

Does Twisted Logic support MP. I am playing with it right now, and it only shows 1 CPU... ?
If not MP, do you plan on implementing MP support?

Hi Damir,

It doesn't have SMP yet. Yes, we do have plans to implement SMP but not in Twisted Logic. I will be working now with Hannibal and our first priority is SMP.
Edsel has been collaborating on Hannibal with me for the last 5 months or so, and I must say it is coming along nicely. I don't expect fans of TwistedLogic to be disappointed with the new engine.

It is more tactical now compared to the last version, it is not that prone anymore to miss some obscure and deep lines. This means less likely to lose against lower rated opponents due to tactics.

There are a lot of minor changes in the search and the eval.

For the search:
I did replace my old pruning technique with a more conventional one.
I disabled Extended Speculation which makes it a little conservative in its reductions (LMR related).
Some improvements on the hashing cutoffs
Some improvements on the qsearch pruning stuff
Lots of minor bugfixes

For the eval:
Disabled pawn storm when not castled on opposite sides
Removed space scoring and replaced with piece attacks
Add some limiting factors to the mobility
Lots of minor bugfixes
Do you also plan to implement MP support&tablebases support?...
I find this version very strong, and it would be really great if it can support these things, before you start working on Hannibal ( Barca )
This might be the last version of Twisted Logic. Hannibal now is my main priority and it is already a little stronger than TL. Our priority for now is SMP. I think we will not be needing tablebases in Hannibal as it has a good endgame knowledge already.
Great news Edsel....thanks for the last release of TwistedLogic and good luck with the Hannibal projest....I like the name by the way,it's scary 8-)

Hi Edsel,

Any possibility of having a non-sse version for people with w32-xp "old" machines?

When do you think Hannibal will be ready? Also, will it have a Twisted Logic-ish style, Twisted is one of my favorite engines (partly because of the name :D).

Good luck on Hannibal,

Hi Norm,

I will try to upload a non-sse version later.
